About
Airawat Research Foundation – the Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Cities – was incorporated as a section-8 company at IIT Kanpur in January 2025. This is an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Government of India under the mission 'Make AI in India, Make AI work for India'. Airawat Research Foundation has partnered with premier academic institutions, industries and non-profit organisations to foster the vision, and to develop scalable AI-based solutions and technologies on real-world problems for urban sustainability, guided by an appreciation of priorities by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.
